A variety of long and short golf holes with long fescue grasses lining the fairway and edging the bunkers, as well as creative short par fours with some blind shots, will challenge golfers of all abilities. Golf holes were routed up and around the hill offering a scenic variety of shots creating a fun thrill ride for golfers. A natural drumlin, or elongated hill or ridge formed by glacial ice long ago, is the primary feature on Sage Run.
The course meanders through beautiful Upper Peninsula hardwoods and open vistas with very dramatic views. The land at Sage Run is 180 degrees in contrast from its sister course Sweetgrass with its prairie links style. In 2019, Sage Run was named to Golf Digest’s prestigious list of “Best New Courses”. Sage Run joins the celebrated Sweetgrass course at the resort for the Hannahville Indian Community and offers a contrasting style and design by Paul Albanese, the architect of each course.
